Overview
At Wong Strauch Architects (WSA) we not only design buildings, we also build relationships. We do this by integrating our clients into the design process and listening to what they have to say. Just as they are experts in their business, we are experts in ours. This process encourages trust and eliminates confusion through an open exchange of ideas and communication. Misunderstandings and unrealistic expectations are minimized and the development of close working relationships is encouraged.
WSA is also known for superior technical skills along with creative and practical budget conscious designs. We take pride in producing accurate, detailed, and simple-to-read drawings that are easily understood by contractors. We respond to issues and focus on solutions as a leader of your design team.

Technology
At
WSA we continually update our computer technology to stay current with today's
rapidly changing industry. In this manner we are able to provide a fast, interactive,
and highly efficient environment for site planning, building design, space planning,
interior architecture, and construction document preparation. All workstations
are operating on Windows NT 4.0 and networked through Microsoft exchange server.
Additionally, the use of DSL technology guarantees a rapid response time with
regard to computer assisted media. We incorporate the newest industry standard
AutoCAD 2000i for drafting and design and utilize SpecLink for specifications.
DGN Link 6 Translator allows us to work between Microstation and AutoCad accurately
and efficiently. Project timelines are controlled by Microsoft Project. A powerful
3D modeling and rendering program,3D Studio Viz, provides photorealistic images
and animations while the use of Lightscape allows us to accurately simulate and
analyze the lighting in any space. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator assist us in
creating outstanding photographic presentations and reports. Deltek Advantage
6.0g, a project-oriented financial software program, is utilized to accurately
track project activity. WSA also employs the use of a digital copier and camera,
scanners, and color printers/plotters. WSA employees are available by cell phone

Total
Quality Management Plan
Wong
Strauch Architects' Total Quality Management (TQM) Plan engages all members of
our firm in a commitment to excellence. As much a philosophy as a program, WSA
encourages that TQM be practiced at every level of Design, Construction Document
production, and Construction Administration. We also seek the same level of commitment
from our consultants by requesting frequent formal reviews during the project.
To
maintain high standards, we incorporate into the design of all of our projects,
regular Design Quality Assurance Reviews at specific phases throughout the course
of a project. These reviews are conducted by a senior member of the firm and are
normally conducted when a project is 5% complete (code review stage), 35% complete,
75% complete and 95% complete -- or at other intervals necessary for the client's
project progress reports. This system provides an in-depth look at the project
design during each phase of its development. Our TQM Plan includes specific processes
for review and provides checklists such as the Program Information Form; the Project
Team Schedule; Team Meeting Notes; a Building Code Checklist; the Drawing Content
Checklist; a Specifications Checklist; and Cost Estimates prepared by consultant
estimators. Total Quality Management enhances our efficiency and assists us in
reaching cost-effective and accurate design solutions.
Similar
processes and control documents are used in the Contract Administration Phase
to assure compliance with the Construction Documents by the contractor and maintain
project progress.

Project
Approach
Wong Strauch Architects
approaches every project with a commitment to design excellence and achievement
of the client's goals. To facilitate this approach we engage the entire design
team in an interactive process of project organization and management. The client
is encouraged to participate as a design team member throughout the project, contributing
their knowledge and expertise to the overall design process. The design team meets
on a regular basis to maximize communication between the team members and ensure
the appropriate balance of aesthetic, technical, and functional design considerations.
This approach encourages creative problem solving by involving all disciplines,
minimizing risks, and reaching solutions through open communication.
